Ada Robertson Bernard

Ada Robertson Bernard, age 94, of Union Hall, VA passed away Saturday night, February 16, 2013. She was born August 14, 1918 the daughter of the late Fernando Robertson and Gladys Wright Robertson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Raymond W. Bernard also two sisters, Elsie Brooks and Melva Wimmer. Surviving are one brother, Roosevelt Robertson and his wife, Mira of Vinton; special nephew, Joseph Canada and his wife, MaryAnn of Union Hall; niece, Gladys (Gee) Smith of Union Hall ; niece, Judy Marion and her husband, Earnest of Cumberland, VA; special friend, Wayne Schrader of Penhook; also many other friends and relatives. “Special thanks to Joe and Beverly Rutter and their staff for all their care, kindness and support.” Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Lynch Conner Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Poland and Rev. Belle Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernard Family Cemetery, Old Salem School Road, Union Hall, VA. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Glade Hill Rescue Squad or to the Carilion Hospice of Franklin County.
