Alfred R. Boyd

Alfred R. Boyd Sr., age 83 of Ferrum went to meet his Lord and Savior Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Mr. Boyd was a US Army Veteran having served in Italy during World War II. He was the owner and operator of Boyds TV Sales and Service. Mr. Boyd was born October 23, 1926 to the late Rucker and Lakie Boyd. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two infant brothers; brother Clifford Boyd; and Alfreds wife of 50 years Doris Ferguson Boyd. Surviving are his children Pat Guilliams and husband Larry; Rick Boyd and wife Vickie, Sandy Peery and husband Frank, Mike Boyd and wife Cheryl; grandchildren Kimberly Sloan and husband Denny, Laura Guilliams, Melissa Peery, Shane Boyd, Chris Guilliams, Eric Guilliams; great-grandchildren Austin Salmon, Maddison Sloan; sister Nellie Crump and husband Dusty; brothers Cleo Boyd and wife Diane and Billy Boyd and wife Darlene; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would especially like to thank their extended family and the caregivers at Fork Mountain Rest Home. Flowers will be accepted or donation may be made to the Alzheimers Association Central & Western VA, 2728 Colonial Ave., Suite 2, Roanoke, VA 24015. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 2:00p.m. Saturday with Rev. Terry Covey and Pastor Jackie Spence officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Rick Boyd, 1740 King Richard Road, Ferrum. www.lynchconnerbowman.com
