Allen Carter age 75 of Rocky Mount peacefully passed away at his home on Friday, November 27, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.
Allen was born on September 28, 1945 a son of the late James Hogsten and Marilyn McBride. He was also preceded in death by his grandchildren, Cheza Rain Holley, Nina Marie Spencer and Jordan West (great-grandson); other grandchildren; a sister, Cherie Hogsten; and his wife’s parents, Cora and Ted Yopp.
Allen was an avid Cleveland Browns/Indians fan and a Retired from the U.S. Navy. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife, Faye M. Yopp Carter; his five children, Allen Carter, Jr.; Korey Midkiff (Roger), Carla Carter, Dawn Spencer (Monte) and Marilyn Holley (Jonathan); 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four brothers and three sisters, Mike Hogsten, Robbie Hogsten, Jimmy Wisenborn, Bob Minter, Joy Linden, Gail Peyton and Kathy Hogsten. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home officiated by The Church of Latter Day Saints of Rocky Mount. Interment will follow with military rites in The Yopp Family Cemetery.
The Carter family will receive friends on Monday, November 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
