Altrude Mae Rakes Shively

Altrude Mae Rakes Shively, age 83, of Ferrum passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012. She was born November 21, 1928 the daughter of the late Walter Rakes and Laura Hall Rakes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Coy Shively. Surviving are her son, Gary Shively and his wife, Beth of Ferrum; daughter, Patricia Beumer and her husband, Howard of Rocky Mount; five grandchildren, Julie McClellan, Adam Bowles, Kelly Bowles, Garrett Shively, Walker Shively; three great grandchildren, Grayson Campbell, Max McClellan, Presley McClellan; five brothers, Richard Rakes, Orben Rakes, Cleo Rakes, Lane Rakes, Hubert Rakes; four sisters, Rena Stone, Judy Hale, Mildred DeHart, Edna Duncan; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 2, at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to The Mission Fund at Maple Grove United Methodist Church.
