Alvena Flora Plunkett Edens

Alvena Flora Plunkett Edens, 87, of Boones Mill, Virginia, went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 6, 2016.She was born July 1, 1928, to the late Dean Stanley and Georgia Ann Flora Plunkett. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, William (Buddy) Edens. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Plunkett Hill and Virginia Plunkett Sink.Mrs. Edens was a lifelong member of Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren. Surviving are her sons, Michael W. Edens (Martha) of Greensboro, N.C., and Mark S. Edens (Madeline) of Stamford, Conn.; sister, Alvera Plunkett Abshire; brothers, Jarius Plunkett and Darius Plunkett; and a grandson, Christopher Edens of Atlanta, Ga. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home (220 Location) with Pastor Bruce Huffman officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 9, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren, 2363 Brick Church Road, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
