Alvin Ray Davis

Alvin Ray Davis, age 84, died peacefully at home on May 31, 2022. Ray was born on May 27, 1938 in Redwood, VA. He is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Lucille Davis; brothers Benjamin, Harry and Carlton Davis, and sister Brenda Quesenberry. Surviving is his loving wife and caregiver of 49 years, Linda Davis; his loving daughters Machell Wells (Robert), Teresa Davis, Chasity Campbell (Ronald), and Christy Davis. Ray loved his grandchildren, Dougie Davis, Hunter Wells (Claire Gorman), Madison Wells, Hayley Davis (Jared Tyree), Dakota Campbell, Trevor Davis; 2 great-grandchildren Ella Wells and Coleman Tyree. Surviving are also his sister Linda Young (Donald) and brother-in-law Frank Quesenberry. Ray loved working outside and taking care of his goats. If you knew Ray you knew how hardworking and kind hearted he was. He will forever be missed by all. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Friday at Lynch-Conner Bowman Funeral Home (town chapel) with Rev. Steve Pasley officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will be receiving friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Lynch-Conner Bowman Funeral Home, 140 Floyd Ave., Rocky Mount.
