Alvin Jay Montgomery

Alvin Jay Montgomery, October 25, 1961 - November 3, 2021, age 60 of Gretna, formerly of Franklin County, passed away Wednesday November 3 at the home of dear friend Jennifer Perkins. Alvin was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Janie (Maxey) Montgomery, brother Barry Montgomery, numerous other family members. He is survived by sister Linda Montgomery of Roanoke, sister-in-law Elaine Montgomery of Moneta, nephew David Montgomery (Rita) and their children Savanna, Raylyn, Tyler, Zelena, and Keegan of Floyd Virginia, niece Laura Montgomery (Bobby Cook) and her daughter Judy of Moneta. Also surviving are aunts Lois Denlinger of Ohio and Iva Maxey of Roanoke. Alvin leaves his cherished extended family and dear friends Jennifer Perkins, her son Robbie Paggans and Robbie’s children will and Llibby Paggans. The family is forever grateful for their love and care. There will be no service, per Alvin’s wishes he will be cremated and his ashes buried next to his parents at a later date.
