Andrew Jackson Smith

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Andrew Jackson Smith on October 14, 2024. Deeply mourned by his daughters, Laura Smith and Macey Smith, his son Joseph Smith; his grandchildren, Dustin, Destiny and Everleigh; brothers Johnnie Smith (Wendy), Kenneth Smith, Edgar "Buster" Smith (Pam), Dennis Smith and Stanley Smith (Alice), sisters Becky Roberts (Cliff), Lola Manning (Dennis), Sandra Greer (Roger). He is preceded in death by his loving parents Clarence J. Smith and Melva D. Smith, his sister Cornelia Mitchell (Willie Jr.), and his niece Shannon Manning. He was well known in the county for his big garden that he shared with everyone. He never met a stranger and always had a joke to tell. Special thanks to Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital, Roanoke Cardiac ICU Unit, Carilion Transport, Carilion Hospice and Franklin Health and Rehab for the care of our father. Funeral Services will be held at Conner Bowman Funeral Home 62 Virginia Marketplace Drive Rocky Mount Va. 24151 on Friday, October 18 2024 at 11:00 a.m., with interment following at Crook View Cemetery, Blackwater Hills Drive, Glade Hill, Virginia 24092. His family will receive friends on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Conner Bowman Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Anyone is welcome to come to 4433 Goldenview Road Glade Hill, Virginia 24092, to visit with family during this time.
