Ann Marie Ewers Overton

Ann Marie Ewers Overton, age 79 of Rocky Mount, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 27, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hewlett M. and Irene (Story) Ewers. Ann was a committed and faithful wife of 59 years to William “Quint” Overton and was a devoted mother to her two boys, Bill (Nancy) and David Overton. She was a wonderful and loving grandmother to Joshua (Katie) Overton of Roanoke, Casey (Gavin) Walters of Callaway, Courtney (Charles) Huffman of Rocky Mount and Devin, Will and Cate Overton of Roanoke; a doting great-grandmother to Raylyn, Stanley, Lucas and Ellis Walters, Wade Huffman, Theodore Overton and step-grandmother to Vincent and Victor Davidson. She is also survived by a sister Lucille Hunt of Lynchburg, VA; sisters-in-law Mary Overton, Linda Overton and Carolyn Overton all of Farmville, VA, and numerous nieces and nephews. After moving with her husband to Rocky Mount in 1959, Ann worked with several organizations and businesses to include the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service (ASCS), the Town of Rocky Mount, Rexall Drug Store and Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital, where she was able to demonstrate her care and compassion for those who were hurting. She had a beautiful smile and a wonderful sense of humor which made her so pleasant to be around. She was loved and will certainly be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Franklin Heights Baptist Church, 110 Hilltop Drive, Rocky Mount, VA with Dr. Stan Parris and Rev. J. Larry Holland officiating. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday, April 30, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Franklin Heights Baptist Church.
