Audrey Thomas Maxey

Audrey Thomas Maxey of Rocky Mount passed away on October 5, 2022.  She was born in Endicott, VA to the late Julian Cleo and Mabel Brogan Thomas.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Francis Edward Maxey.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Randy Dudley; son, Jason Maxey; grandchildren, Brogan and Max Dudley; brother and sister-in-law, C.W. and Gail Thomas.  Always proud to have been born, live and work in Franklin County.  She devoted forty-one years of service to the Franklin County Commonwealth Attorney’s office.  During those years she shared her love of cooking with her co-workers and visitors to the office. An avid yarn crafter, she always made sure all of her co-workers and friends had many new hats and scarves for each winter season.  In the last several years she crocheted over seven hundred stocking caps for Franklin Heights Church Operation Christmas Child.  Her family respectfully requests no flowers. Graveside services will be private at Franklin Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Conner-Bowman Funeral Home (Rt. 220 Chapel), 62 Virginia Market Place Drive, Rocky Mount, VA 24151 (540) 334-5151
