Barton "Bart" Raye Ruby

Barton Raye Ruby, 56, of Rocky Mount, entered into rest with his family by his side on Sunday, September 11, 2011. He was presently employed as a Manufacturing Engineer at Freight Car America in Roanoke, Va. At his request, no service will be held. “Bart” was born March 16, 1955 in Roanoke, Va. He grew up in Roanoke and joined the Air Force out of school where he served as a Radar Maintenance Repairman. He relocated for work many times throughout his life, but had settled with his family back in Virginia several years ago. He was an exceptional husband; father, brother, son, and worker. He is preceded in death by his father, Casper Ruby. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Hibbard-Ruby; his children, Brian, Brandon, Isaac, and Jordan; two grandchildren; his mother, Nancy Davis; his siblings, Gary Ruby, Marsha Bowles, and Clarence “Tony” Davis; and many others through marriage and extended family.
