Betty Lou Roberson Blankenship, 79, of Glade Hill, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2015 after a long illness.
She was a member of Craft’s United Methodist Church and worked for Virginia Apparel for over 30 years.
Mrs. Blankenship was born on February 6, 1936 a daughter of the late Thomas Lacy and Thelma McBride Roberson and was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Powell.
She is survived by her husband of almost 63 years, James Clifford Blankenship; her son and daughter-in-law, James Keith and Becky Blankenship.; granddaughter, Ashley Gonzalez and husband, Leonel; her first great-grandchild to be; brother, Thomas L. Roberson, Jr. (Ann); sisters, Edna Finney (Charles) and Lynn Tracy (Dick); special friend, Pearl Crawford. Mrs. Blankenship is also survived by many other family members, and friends including her church family.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the staff at Carilion Clinic including Carilion Clinic Patient Transportation for all of their dedicated care and love shown throughout her illness.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, October 15, 2015 from Conner-Bowman Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Judith Short and Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
