Betty Peters Bryant

June 13, 1943 — February 2, 2016

On February 2, 2016, Betty Peters Bryant, age 72 of Henry, Virginia once again feels the loving arms of her Mama and Daddy, Louise and Herman Peters. Betty leaves her devoted and cherished brother, Roger L. Peters and wife, Brenda behind to honor her memory. Betty began her career at Stanley Chevrolet in Ferrum, Virginia and retired from Franklin County General District Court with thirty-two years of service. During that time, Betty also served for two years as Co-Chairman of The Franklin County Social Services. Betty was a selfless and giving daughter, sister, Mother, Grandmother and friend. Betty was our beautiful treasure and meant the same to many, many other people. She quietly helped everybody she could in any way she could. When you thanked her she would say, "I didn't do anything." Betty was grateful for her family and friends and truly loved them with her whole heart. Also left to honor Betty is a special Uncle and Aunt, John and Carolyn Johnson of Rocky Mount, and life-long friends, Jimmy and Peggy Underwood of Fancy Gap and Sammy and Mary Prillaman of Henry. Rebecca Dyer, John Kenneth Ramsey and Caroline Coulter currently of Corvallis, Oregon were close neighbors whom Betty was especially fond of. Betty also loved her church family members at Ferrum Church of the Brethren and was very appreciative of the cards, flowers, phone calls and prayers they sent her. More than her own life, Betty loved and adored her granddaughters, Bridgit Nicole and Hannah Marie Bryant of Hardy. There was never a day that they were not in her heart and on her mind. Betty's immediate family wishes to give special thanks to their friend, Monroe Housman for the many kindnesses and friendship he has shown, especially during Betty's illness. They also wish to thank the wonderful and caring nurses and staff on 12 W at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for their loving caring and compassion shown to Betty during her stays. We also thank special nurses and caregivers at Pheasant Ridge Nursing and Rehab for their compassion and care during her stay. Special gratitude to Russ Meadwell, Anne-Marie Peery, Melinda Clavinger, June, Heidi, and April. Services will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Lynch Conner- Bowman Funeral Home (Town Chapel) with one hour visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. then burial at Franklin Memorial Park. Betty loved and wanted to help all children. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P. O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-0050.
