Buford Wayne (Pat) Furrow, age 94, of Callaway passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012. He was born May 3, 1918 to the late Claude K. and Peradine Bell Furrow and was the last of nine siblings. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Radford Furrow. Surviving are his children, Janey (Bryon) Snapp, Rose (Jimmy) Hale, Dina (Elliot) Richards and a special nephew, Tommy (Maggie) Furrow. Also surviving are step-children, Barbara (Roger) Wertz, June (Harold) Benge, Glen (Julia) Richards; 16 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; many special nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Furrow was a veteran of World War II and spent his life working in timber and farming. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 11, at Lynch Conner Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Shively and Rev. Byron Snapp officiating. Interment will follow in the Vest Cemetery, Floyd, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank friends and loved ones for their encouragement and support through the years. Also we wish to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the VA Medical Center for their wonderful care.
