C. Wellsley Smith

Dr. C. Wellsley Smith, age 76, of Smith Mountain Lake passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014. He was born September 21, 1938 the son of the late Cleo Brade Smith and Grace Elizabeth Martin Smith. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Air Force. C.W. was a dentist for 37 years in Maryland before coming to Virginia 10 years ago and working part time with Dr. Brian Alexander. Surviving are his wife, Sue Franz Smith; two children, Trina Leanne Smith Folkenberg and husband, Todd; Chad Wellsley Smith and wife, Autumn; two brothers, Robert Bruce Smith, Richard Milo Smith; two sisters, Marilynn Grace Smith Carpenter, Karen Frances Smith Sauer; brother-in-law, Charles Franz; father-in-law, Clyde Franz; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Smith Mountain Lake SDA Church, 10802 Moneta Rd., Moneta VA 24121. Memorial services will be held 4:00 P.M.
