Cameron "Bubba" Byrd

Cameron Michael Byrd, age 11 of Glade Hill, Passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017. Cameron, passionately known as “Bubba” was a kind and loving person who believed that we all should be kind and love one another. He enjoyed lots of hobbies including collecting Mario Brothers toys, videotaping skits with his collections and performing these skits with his side kick sister, Olivia. He had a deep passion for music as he could remember the tunes and words to all songs and he was becoming a good drummer. He was certainly the class clown and loved by his classmates. His happiness and great attitude was contagious and influenced everyone he came into contact with and always offered a free hug to everyone. He will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Byrd. Bubba is survived by his mother, Shena Carr (Chad McDaniel); father, Michael Byrd (Sarah Foss); sisters, Olivia and Janie; brothers, Lane and Ian; grandparents, Shannon and Kathy Carr, Cynthia Byrd and Michael Byrd; great-grandmothers, Mary Carr and Joyce White; aunts and uncles, Ben Carr, Andrea Wray (Jace), Trish Byrd (Calvin); special cousin, Corey Collins; cousins, Christian Jace Wray (Lil’Man), Catana and Xavier.. He is also survived by other relatives and a host of many friends. For those desiring, a memorial fund has been set up at SunTrust bank in Shannon and Kathy Carr’s name for Cameron to help with the many expenses they have encountered. Your kind and giving generosity is much appreciated. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Rocky Mount Church of God with Pastor Robert Meredith officiating. Interment will follow in the Davis Family Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday with Bubba’s family receiving friends from 4 to 7 p.m. at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 62 VA Market Place Drive (Route 220 @ Wirtz Road) Rocky Mount.
