Carl Jacob Tyler, age 85 of Hardy passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011. He was a wonderful Loving, devoted and faithful husband and father who always put his family first. A man that was always prepared for the unexpectant and always there to educate others in the simple ways of life. The very best “Daddy” a girl could ever ask for. Mr. Tyler was a Veteran of the United States Army being the recipient of the Good Conduct CT Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal. He was also a very proud member of the Retirees Association of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union # 358 in New Jersey, and he was a member of the American Legion in Bedford, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Tyler on April 3, 2011. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Susan Tyler. Services will be private.
