Carl Walters

Carl William Walters, Sr., 69, of Boones Mill, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011 at his home. He was a loving and caring man that will be greatly missed by all. He was born January 3, 1942 a son of the late Jasper W. and Annie Vest Walters. Surviving are his loving wife, Cheryl Hodges Walters of Boones Mill; sons, C.W. Walters, Jr. and wife Susan of Newcastle, Shannon Lee Walters and wife Melody of Vinton; daughter, Ashley Drew Walters of Botetourt County; grandsons, Hunter Lee Walters and Forest Lee Walters; granddaughter, Emily Pauline Walters; sister, Deborah T. Scherer and husband John, Pinehurst, North Carolina; many friends and other family members. Carl was a member of the local chapter of IUEC from 1969-2000, a business agent with NEIEP from 2001-2011, and a member of the Melrose Masonic Lodge #139 A.F. & A.M. since 1982 where he was Master Mason. Memorial services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 3:30 pm Sunday, July 3, 2011 with Pastor Rick Poland officiating. The family will be receiving friends Sunday prior to the service from 2 to 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 1079 C Spruce St, Martinsville, Virginia 24112.
