Carolyn W. Rome Williams

Carolyn W. Rome Williams, age 80, of Rocky Mount, VA went to be with her Lord after a long illness on Sunday, December 8, 2013. She was born July 29, 1933 the daughter of the late Henry Rome and Serena Post Card Rome. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. B. Williams; daughter, Joanne Morris; two grandsons, Michael Morris, James Vealey; and seven brothers and sisters. Surviving are three daughters, Cynthia Hostler and Timothy of Rocky Mount, Carol Licata and David of Florida, Janice Huff and Kenny of Rocky Mount; son-in-law, Jerry Morris of Rocky Mount; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; four brothers, Roy Rome, Virgil Rome, Ronnie Rome, Calvin Card; two sisters, Marilyn Kilmer, Abbie VanderVelde; many nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Lela Massey, Linda Murphy, Thalia Altice. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 noon Thursday at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Liz Lazenby officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
