Charlie Garfield Dixon, age 86 of Ferrum entered into eternal rest with his wife on Saturday, November 7, 2009, surrounded by his family. He was known for his love of pets and peppermint, but his laughter and love that he gave to his family, especially his grandchildren, will never be forgotten. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William O. Dixon; his wife, Belva Shively Dixon; brothers, Emmett and Kermit Dixon; sister, Mamie Cooper; and son-in-law, Jimmy Trail. He is survived by his children, Frances Trail, Billy Dixon and Norma Young, Irene and Tommy Turner, Darrell and Jenny Dixon; grandchildren, Missy Trail and Joey, Michael Trail and Teresa, Ricky Dixon and Amanda, Michelle Turner and Brian, Jenny Moore and Ashley, and Charles Trail; great-Grandchildren, Brandie Dixon, Miranda Young, Dustin Mullins, Tiffany Mullins, Jordan Turner, Kelley Moore, Brooklyn Dixon, Kaitlynn and Kammie Hicks, Mason Dixon, and James Trail; great-great-grandchild, Hunter Grace Mullins; sister, Bessie Wilson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2009 with Rev. Bud Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Bowles Family Cemetery.
