Charlie Orville Worley, age 78 of Glade Hill died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at his home. He was an Elder at Blue Ridge Gospel Tabernacle and retired as a Rural Mail Carrier serving the Ferrum area for 24 years and will be remembered for being a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. Mr. Worley was born March 22, 1931, a son of the late George Swanson and Ora Martin Worley. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Gaye Rakes Worley; children, Kenneth Lane Worley, Connie Sue Worley Britt; sisters, Angela Worley Lynch and Emma Worley Snead; brother, Mawyer Worley. Surviving are his wife Pat P. Worley; sons, Darel Keith Worley, Carl P. and Becky Silvey, R. Zachary Silvey and special friend Amy Meador, James T. and Amy Silvey; daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte W. and John Brunswick, Janie W. and Billy Cappelli, Sharon Gaye Baker, Dave Britt; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne and Brenda Worley; sister, Vera and Eural Midkiff; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Philip Crandall officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
