Charlie Orville Worley

Charlie Orville Worley, age 78 of Glade Hill died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at his home. He was an Elder at Blue Ridge Gospel Tabernacle and retired as a Rural Mail Carrier serving the Ferrum area for 24 years and will be remembered for being a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. Mr. Worley was born March 22, 1931, a son of the late George Swanson and Ora Martin Worley. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Gaye Rakes Worley; children, Kenneth Lane Worley, Connie Sue Worley Britt; sisters, Angela Worley Lynch and Emma Worley Snead; brother, Mawyer Worley. Surviving are his wife Pat P. Worley; sons, Darel Keith Worley, Carl P. and Becky Silvey, R. Zachary Silvey and special friend Amy Meador, James T. and Amy Silvey; daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte W. and John Brunswick, Janie W. and Billy Cappelli, Sharon Gaye Baker, Dave Britt; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne and Brenda Worley; sister, Vera and Eural Midkiff; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Philip Crandall officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Gospel Tabernacle/Blue Ridge Bible College, 445 Blue Ridge Court, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151.
