Chris Austin

Norman “Chris” Austin, age 85 of Ferrum, went to be with the Lord April 18, 2011. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years Marie Austin; two sons Norman “Mike” Austin, Sr., and Joel Austin. Surviving are grandchildren Norman Mike Austin, Jr. (Jennifer), Angie Austin Hall (John boy), Julian Austin; daughters-in-law Denise Austin Lewis (Dale), Virginia Robson Austin, and Debbie Austin; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends Marvin Young and Linda Brooks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County, 390 S. Main St., Rocky Mount, VA. Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel, Rt. 220 @ Wirtz Rd. 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Eugene Chitwood and Mike Austin officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
