Christie Hicks Spicer age 41 of Rocky Mount passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. Christie was a member of Redwood United Methodist Church and was a dedicated caregiver at Franklin Memorial Hospital, a job she really loved that involved taking care of others which was her passion in life, and the patients loved her compassion beyond measure. Her infectious smile, laughter and sense of humor will greatly be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rhonda Whitlock Underwood; and her grandparents.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Spicer; her daughter, Taylor Helaine Hicks; grandson, Clayton James Ramey; father, Clayton Hicks (Della); step-brothers, Matt, Michael Merryfield and Stevie Wilburn; step-sisters, Samantha Merryfield and Cindy Wilburn; aunts and uncles, Danny Hicks, Ricky Lee Hicks, Charles Allen Hicks (Maria), Jeff Hicks (Jay), Brenda Hicks, Sandra Turner, Ramona Holley and Cynthia Barrett (Ronnie). She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all of the many healthcare professionals and the many family members, friends and caregivers that helped throughout her struggles.

A celebration of her life will be conducted from Redwood United Methodist Church 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016 with Pastors Brad Dulaney, Susan Hughes, Ronald Coleman and Rick Poland officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.
