Clarence Smith

Clarence Johnnie Gravy Smith, age 86, of Glade Hill, passed away Friday, March 5, 2010. He was born September 18, 1923, in Franklin County, a son of the late John Calvin (Jack) and Julie Mary Smith. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Calvin, Tansey, James, Ira and Henry Smith; two sisters, Marie Young, and Fannie Dillon; and a beloved grand-daughter Shannon Jo Manning. He is survived by his loving wife, Melva Dillon Smith; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnnie and Wendy Smith, Edgar Buster and Pam Smith, Stanley and Alice Smith, Andrew Smith and fianc Mary Greer, Kenneth Smith, and Dennis Smith; daughter and sons-in-laws, Kay and Jr. Mitchell, Becky and Clift Roberts, Curly and Dennis Manning, Sandra and Roger Greer; twelve grand-children; and eight great-grand-children; three brothers & sister-in-law Monroe Smith, Richard and Doris Smith, and Hugh Smith. Funeral Services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Monday with Rev. Denver Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the Crookview Family Cemetery.
