Claude Jesse Hodges

Claude Jesse Hodges, age 88 of Rocky Mount passed away Friday, September 17, 2010. He is now in eternal peace and no longer suffering. Jesse was preceded in death by daughter Cheryl Ellis and grandson Ricky Lee Carter. He was a decorated WWII veteran, who loved ice cream, his garden and plundering around town. He has left behind more stories and laughs that will forever be cherished by those he shared them with. Surviving are his devoted wife of 68 years Polly Greer Hodges; children Pap Hodges and wife Cathy, Buz Hodges and wife Nancy, Barbara Carter and husband Roger, Kimberlee Hodges and fianc Mack Gentry; eight grandchildren Brian Bowles, David Bowles, Brenda Davis, Sandy Doss, Jeanette Mullins, Laura Lee Carter, Shanna Smith, Kelsey Lynn Hodges, Boogie; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and caregiver Heidi. In order to honor Jesses wishes all arrangements will be private by Conner Bowman Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 220 @ Wirtz Rd., Rocky Mount.
