Claudine Young Smith

Claudine Young Smith, 77, of Wirtz, VA passed away unexpectedly with her family by her side on Sunday, December 28, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Ada Young of Ferrum, VA; one brother Bobby Warren Young; and one sister Ellen Jean Guilliams. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Ronnie Lee (Smitty) Smith; three sons Marty Sigmon (Peggy), Ferrum, Ricky (Mary) Sigmon, Rocky Mount, Joey (Sarah) Sigmon, Ferrum; and one daughter Deborah Sigmon (Cedric), Rocky Mount; also two step-children Michael Lee Smith (Eric), Roanoke, Tammy (Smitty) Smith (Linda) of St. Charles, Missouri; four grandchildren, Darin Lee Scott (Ashley), Steven Sigmon (Audrey), Jeannie Sigmon and April Sigmon; nine great- grandchildren, Tiera, Christopher, Desaray, Jaimere, Mckinzie, Brooklyn, Aidan, Kaylee and Caine. She is also survived by her VERY Special friends and neighbors, Alvin and Bobbi Peters who were dear to her as well. Claudine retired from Fleetwood Homes after working there many years. Her main hobby and main passion in life was sharing and showing her love to all of her family. And SHE was the ROCK of our family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, Virginia 24018 Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Home Chapel 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2014 with Rev. Bud Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in St. James United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home.
