Curtis Oliver Brown

Curtis Oliver Brown, age 91, of Bassett, VA passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022. He was born January 30, 1930 the son of the late Rufus R. Brown and Sallie Dillon Brown. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Johnston Brown. He was also preceded by two sisters, Barbara Bruce, Zelma Reed; eight brothers, Harrison, Wilber, Edward, Warren, Tyler, Blackie, Jake, Doc; step son, Lonnie Carter; a friend and companion, Ruth Holland. He worked for over 40 years at American Furniture as a supervisor. Surviving are two step daughters, Brenda Boyd (Roger), Elizabeth Joyce Persson (Gert); two step grandchildren, Michael Carter (Danijela), Jason Carter (Mandy); two step great grandchildren, Hunter Carter, Olivia Carter; two sisters, Juanita Custer (Danny), Hettie Minter (Jacky); brother, Joe Brown (Susan); step daughter in law, Louise Carter; lots of nieces and nephews; friends at the Fieldale Café. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 19, at Lynch Conner Bowman Funeral Home with Elder Mark Terry officiating. Interment will follow in Crossroads Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery (Gills Creek). The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
