Curtis “Man” Toler Wright passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, May 27, 2017 in Rocky Mount, VA at the age of 70.
Born on April 3, 1947 in Penhook, VA to the late Curtis Walter Wright and Mary Jane Wright. His hobbies were collecting junk and playing cards. His passion was helping others. Curtis loved to make people laugh and feel good about themselves.
Curtis leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife of 40 years Elaine Wright of Rocky Mount, VA, ten children Jean Gill of Rocky Mount, Melvin Gill of Statefarm, VA, Doris Gill (Steve) of Rocky Mount, Teresa O’Neal, Marvin O’Neal, and Brian O’Neal of Rocky Mount, Curtis Wright, Jr. of Rocky Mount, Timothy Wright (Nicole) of Rocky Mount, Latoya Hughes (Mookie) of Rocky Mount, and Amos Wright of Jarrett, VA. A special nephew Allan Wright (Eloise) of Rocky Mount.
Curtis is also survived by one brother Guy Wright of Martinsville, six sisters Elizabeth Brooks of Rocky Mount, Betty Adkins of Rocky Mount, Francis Mattox of Roanoke, Bernice Wright of Glade Hill, Aleice Jones (Jerome) of Roanoke, and Janice Wright of Rocky Mount. His mother-in-law Alvia O’Neal of Rocky Mount, three sisters-in-law Reva O’Neal and Joyce O’Neal of Washington D.C., Joy Wimbush of Rocky Mount, two brothers-in-law Robert O’Neal and Isaiah O’Neal and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch- Conner-Bowman Funeral Home (Town Chapel) 12:30 Friday with Rev. Rodney Newbill officiating. Burial will follow in the Watson-Level Baptist Church in Climax, VA.
