Dale Seth Coombs

Dale Seth Coombs, 76, of Ferrum, VA, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 23, 2021, at his home in Ferrum. Born in Auburn, NY, on May 3, 1944, Dale was the son of the late Seth A. and Dorothy Ophelia Henry Coombs. He was a graduate of McGraw High School, Class of ‘63, and resided for most of his life in the McGraw, NY area. Dale was a faithful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was deeply loved by his family and will be missed. Dale is survived by his wife of 48 years, Constance F. Coombs; his children, Jeffery (Elizabeth) Coombs of Chesapeake, VA, Adam (Amanda) Coombs of Ferrum, VA, Jason (Audrey) Coombs of Spencer, VA, Deborah (Yo) Phonthipsavath of Michigan, and Luke Coombs of Charlotte, NC; siblings, Carolyn (David) Clark of New Berlin, NY, Stuart (Marge) Coombs of Virgil, NY, and Kevin Coombs of Cincinnatus, NY. He also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Matthew Scott Coombs, and brother Phillip R. Coombs. Dale was the successful sole proprietor of Corner Stone Heating in McGraw for over 30 years. His greatest legacy in life was as a man who lived with honor, integrity, joy, and faithful service to Christ. This legacy now lives on in his children, grandchildren, and those whom he influenced in a life well lived. He will be buried in the McGraw Rural Cemetery and a celebration of his life will be held in the spring.
