David Leon Robinson age 60 of Rocky Mount, VA and formerly of New Jersey passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019. David Leon Robinson was born February 5, 1959 in Morganville, NJ. where he attended Marlboro High School. Preceded in death by his adopted father, Charles and Celeste Smith.
He will be forever remembered by his loving wife and best friend Vanessa Price Robinson. David is also survived two children, his son Brian Moore (Dora Moore mother of Brian) of Freehold NJ and daughter Vanessa Robinson of NJ. Mother in-law Fannie Smith Warren (Leon Warren) Sister in-law Valerie Price Baker (Antonio Baker), Brother in-law Halbert Botts (Lisa Rios Botts) numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended Laing family and dear friends who will miss him dearly.
David retired from Cifelli Development & Construction where he operated heavy duty excavating and construction equipment. Soon after migrated to Rocky Mount VA where he loved eating breakfast in bed.
He excelled at growing tomatoes and other vegetables in his garden. David was known for his long, entertaining stories, which he loved to repeat often. He loved fast cars, dancing and having a good time. Of all the people he touched, both willing and unwilling, his most proud achievement in life was marrying his wife Vanessa. She supported him in all his glory days, in his time of sickness and health and cared for him during their last days together.
Because of David irrational fear of wasting money, his family will hold a private, family only service at Conner and Bowman Funeral Home, Rocky Mount.
