David Lee Spencer

David Lee Spencer, age 51, of Rocky Mount, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010. He was an avid UVA fan. He loved his family and was a special friend to many people. He was preceded in death by his father, Troy Edward Spencer; brother, Douglas Edward Spencer; grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth Chitwood, and Sam and Gillie Spencer; nephew, Brad Meyers; aunt and uncle, Bill and Betty Brown; cousin, CW Bousman. He is survived by his mother, Beulah Spencer; sister, Deborah and Steven Meyers and daughter, Sherry McBride, and her children Taylor and Bradley; brother, Roger Choo-Choo Spencer and his daughters Rachel and Rochelle; uncles, Billy and Yvonne Chitwood and family, Danny and Sue Chitwood and family, Sammy and Pauline Chitwood and family; aunts, Naomi and Billy Bousman and family, Sandra Crews and family; special friends, Kathy and Doug Jacobs, Donna and Kevin Kenner, and Mike Blakenship; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2010 with the Rev. Eddie Hawks and Dr. Jackie Spence officiating. Interment will follow in Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel and at other times at the home of Billy & Yvonne Chitwood, 112 Sunset Dr., Rocky Mount.
