Deborah Bowers, 64, of Callaway, Virginia departed this life on October 25, 2015 with the blessed assurance of Christ Jesus in her heart. She was the daughter of the late Garvie and Dorothy Eggleton formerly of St. Albans, West Virginia.
Surviving family members are: husband, Randy Bowers and daughter, Rachel Bowers both of Callaway, Virginia; son, Jordan Bowers and wife Sara of Charleston, South Carolina; son, Nathan Bowers and wife Alyssa of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; and grandchildren Finley, Leighton, and Grayson. She will be missed by family and many friends across the country.
Deborah was a graduate of Marshall University and taught in the public schools of Kanawha County, West Virginia; Charleston County, South Carolina; and Franklin County, Virginia where she was a substitute teacher at Benjamin Franklin Middle School. She was a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club of Callaway.
She was a former member of Lighthouse Church in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and most recently a member of Antioch Church of the Brethren, Rocky Mount, Virginia. Deborah was known by family and friends as a kind and generous person who served others in the name of her Lord and Savior.
A celebration of her life is planned for Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 3 PM, Antioch Church of the Brethren, 2996 Callaway Road, Rocky Mount, VA 24151 with Pastor Eric Anspaugh officiating.
The family is sincerely grateful to the medical teams and support staff for the quality and compassionate care she received on the tenth floor south at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
