Dennis Divers

Dennis Wade Divers, age 69 of Wirtz, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 16, 2011 in Salem, VA. Dennis was a beloved father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him. He was born June 27, 1942 in Wirtz, VA. He was the son of the late Ralph and Izora Divers also of Wirtz. He was preceded in death by his son Dennis Wade Divers, Jr. of Washington State; two brothers Nolan Divers and Stelford Divers of Wirtz. He is survived by his son Ralph Wade (Pam) Divers of Arnett, WV; Wade’s mom Danese Divers of Glen Daniel, WV; two daughters Cindy (Bob) Ackron and Becky Toti both of Washington State; stepson Brian (Melinda) Vest and stepdaughter Melissa (Jamie) Adams of North Carolina; brother Gerry (Faye) Divers; sister Vernie (Raymond Buck) Holland of Wirtz; Gaynell Husler of Lynchburg; sister-in-law Jean Divers of Wirtz. He was a US Army Veteran, heavy equipment operator and drove a tractor trailer across the country. Dennis was retired, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors raising his garden and driving his Massey Ferguson Tractor. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 3:00 p.m. Monday with Pastor Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in the Divers Family Cemetery. His family will be receiving friends two hours prior to the service starting at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 140 Floyd Ave., Rocky Mount, VA.
