Diane Whipple Chaffee

Diane Whipple Chaffee, 67 of Moneta, VA went to her heavenly home on Friday, June 8, 2018. She was the daughter of Edward E. Whipple and Barbara (Fritz) Whipple of Erin, NY, who both preceded her in death. Diane graduated from Southside High School in Elmira, NY in 1968. She was employed by Carilion Health Care System for 21 years as a senior buyer for the Purchasing Department. She was an avid quilter and crafter who shared her talents with many people. She was an active member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church in Rocky Mount. Her faith and church family kept her strong during her illness. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Louis C. Chaffee; son Jason (Shana) Chaffee and their son Zackary of Newfield, NY; daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Henry and their daughter Aislinn of Waynesboro, VA; sister, Jane (Dick) Lewis of Horseheads, NY and their children; brothers, Craig (Jan) Whipple of Pearisburg, VA and his children and Edward Whipple of San Diego, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. with a short memorial service at 3 p.m. with Pastor Bobby Young officiating.
