Dina Rickman Dowdy

Dina Rickman Dowdy, 56, of Roanoke, VA went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 surrounded by her husband and family after a three-year courageous battle with breast cancer. She never complained and always said “I’m fine” or “How are you doing”? She will sadly be missed by her husband, family and friends and especially her dog, Sassy. Dina was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Rickman. Surviving are her husband, Walter R. (Rudy) Dowdy, Jr., children, Kevin and Jessica Walters; Grandchildren, Charlie, Nathaniel and Benjamin; her mother, Carrol Rickman, sisters, Vicky and Carmen, brothers, Randy (Mary) and Rocky (Amy) Rickman; mother-in-love, Jane Owens, sister-in-love, Sheree (Arnold) Covey; daughter-in-love, Trista Dowdy, numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Belinda Hale, Julia Stover and numerous other friends and co-workers at Anthem. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Dr. Stan Parris officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Dina’s family will receive friends Wednesday, September 19th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
