Don Clifford Davis

Donald C Davis, 85, of Smith Mountain Lake, Va, went to be with our lord on Thursday, October 19th, 2017. He was born and raised his family on Long Island, New York, where he was a General Contractor. He enjoyed his trade and mentored many during his career, including his daughters. Don and Mary moved to Smith Mountain Lake 23 years ago and loved hosting many guests at Stone Manor Bed and Breakfast, before their retirement. Retirement included volunteer work with the Coast Guard Auxiliary and Moneta Lyons Club. Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mary, of 60 years, his daughters Kim (Jeff) Mangold of Smith Mountain Lake, and Lynne (Joe) Johanson of Smithtown, NY. His pride and joy were his four grandchildren, Brian, Karli, Megan and Hunter. Having been only children, Don and Mary believed there are friends, there is family, and then there are friends that become family. Dons life was blessed by so many of his "family" members. A service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, November 4th at 11:00 AM, at Trinity Ecumenical Parish, 40 Lakemount Dr, Moneta, VA, followed by lunch in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation in his memory to: Trinity Ecumenical Parish Memorial Gift Fund, or The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
