Donald Baker Leber

Donald Baker Leber, age 81 of Wirtz passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010. He was born in York, Pennsylvania August 28, 1929 to the late Levere P. Leber, Sr. and Alice Baker Leber. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Levere Bill P. Leber, Jr. He was a Sergeant of the United States Army, having served in the Korean War. Mr. Leber and his wife moved to Roanoke from Evanston, IL in 1960. For several years he owned and operated Dons Auto Sales in Southeast Roanoke. Surviving is his wife of 51 years Shirley Simmons Leber; son Donald E. Leber, of Shawsville; daughters Sharon Anderson and husband Charlie, Laurie Leber of Wirtz, Debbie Cagle and husband Dan of Greenville, SC; sister Betty Abel of East Prospect, Pa; brothers Gene Leber and wife Sue of Towson, MD and Keith Leber and wife Mary of Georgetown, DE; grandchildren Kristin Brooks of Rocky Mount, Ashlee and Dannie Cagle; also many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted from Franklin Memorial Park 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with Mr. Roger Carter officiating. His family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 220 @ Wirtz Rd., Rocky Mount. (540)334-5151 www.connerbowman
