Donald L. "Don" Sines

Donald L. Sines “Don” age 69 of Glade Hill passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017. Don was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He was a Truck Driver for Ruan Transportation, a job that he wanted desperately to get back to. However, his illness would not allow that to happen. His family was his life, he loved the beach and he loved trucking. He was born on June 15, 1948 a son of the late Layman Sines and Nellie Corwin Butterfield. He is survived by the love of his life of 35 years, Elaine Sines; daughters, Angie Duncan, Glade Hill, Heather Amos (J. P.), Bedford; grandchildren, Scott Dalton (Devin), Mercedes Duncan, Holly Amos, Jonathan Amos and Jacob Amos; one great-grandson and one great-grandson on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Anna Mae Copely; brother, Lee Butterfield; and brother-in-law, Andy Drummond. In lieu of flowers, his family has requested that memorial contributions be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, Virginia 24018 A memorial service celebrating his life will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 with Minister Tim Wood officiating. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 62 VA Market Place Drive (Route 220 @ Wirtz Road) Rocky Mount.
