Donnie Lee Hodges

Donnie Lee Hodges, 67, of Boones Mill, Virginia, passed away at home sitting by the warmth of his wood stove on January 22, 2024. He was born on March 30, 1956, in Roanoke, Virginia. Donnie was a beloved husband to Yvonne Hodges for 47 years and a father to his daughters Whitney Artutis (Justin) and Celeste Hodges (Ryan). He adored his grandsons Oaklyn, Ellington, and Andrew. He was preceded in death by his father Walter "Bunk" Hodges, mother Gladys Hodges, sister Karen Kingery, and special dog friend Gypsy.
 
 Donnie was known for his easygoing and rebellious nature. He had a vibrant sense of humor and loved to joke around and tease everyone. He had a passion for riding Harley Davidson motorcycles (which he considered the only acceptable motorcycle) and fixing up cars. Donnie was a kind, honest, and loyal friend to many. He cherished the companionship of his dogs, Miss Gladys, Mattie, and Floyd, who were always by his side.
 
 Donnie dedicated over 25 years of his life working at the Elizabeth Arden Company Store, where he formed many special friendships. He was highly regarded by his colleagues and valued for his hard work and mischievous comic relief.
 
 A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25th, from 6:00-7:00 PM, followed by the funeral service, at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home in Rocky Mount, Virginia.
 
 Donnie will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched, though we know he is now walking the streets of gold in his new heavenly home.
