Due to the pending inclement weather, the Funeral service and visitation for Mrs. Smallwood has been postponed until Wednesday. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 p.m. with the service at 2 p.m. We appreciate your understanding! Dora Martin Smallwood, age 85, of Ferrum passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. She was born September 4, 1930 to the late Jim and Willie Mae Brogan Martin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Neil H. Smallwood, Sr. Dora is survived by two sons, Lloyd W. Allen of Georgia, Neil Smallwood, Jr. (Faye Hardison) of Rocky Mount; a daughter, Elaine Smallwood (David Quinn) of Ferrum; 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home (town chapel) 2:00 PM Monday, February 15 with Pastor Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ferrum.
