Ellen Carter Barbour

Ellen Carter Barbour, age 82, of Rocky Mount, VA passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016. She was born February 8, 1934 the daughter of the late Ralph and Roxie Carter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Barbour; two brothers, Jesse Carter, Kenneth Carter; three sisters, Reba Mabry, Faye Peters, Joy Underwood; one great grandchild, Jaiden Dakota Barbour. Surviving are her seven children, Becky Bowles (Randy), T. Barbour (Brenda), Kent Barbour (Michelle), Doug Barbour (Donna), Bryan Barbour (Betty), Cindy Janney, Daryl Barbour (Susan); ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; five brothers and sisters, Betty Adkins (C.L.), Margaret Jones, Clara Carter, Aaron Carter, Janie Belcher (Lane); several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday at Lynch Conner Bowman Funeral Home with Kent Barbour, Daryl Barbour and Pastor Robert Meredith officiating. Interment will follow in Republican Church / Carter Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
