Ellis "Gabe" Mellott

Ellis “Gabe” Mellott, age 77 of Callaway passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. Gabe was an avid hunter having a passion for archery. He was a member of the Blackwater Bow Hunters Association, and was an artist and painter by trade and loved his family dearly especially his grandchildren. He will be missed by all. He was born on September 14, 1938 a son of the late Ollie and Hattie Hann Mellott. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Jeffery and Ronald Mellott; and two brothers, Albert and Bill Mellott. He is survived by his wife, Gladys M. Mellott; his son, Walter Mellott and wife Rachel; grandchildren Dakota, Petie and Matthew Mellott; one great-granddaughter, Lauren Mellott. Funeral services will be private at his request. Arrangements by Conner-Bowman Funeral Home and Crematory, 62 VA Market Place Drive, Rocky Mount.
