Elsie Johnson Poindexter

Elsie Johnson Poindexter, age 86 of Glade Hill went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 13, 2014. She was born May 16, 1927 to the late Walter Irvin Johnson and Cora Powell Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Posey Lee Poindexter; brothers Claude, Paul, Hughes, Harry, Tom, Troy and Clyde Johnson; and a sister Mary Johnson Boone. Elsie was a dedicated member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving is a sister-in-law Alma Johnson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and church family. Her family would especially like to thank her caregivers Lynn Harrison, Glenda Dooley and also Carilion Hospice of Franklin County. Her family respectfully requests no food. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 1:00 p.m. Saturday with Elder Junior Conner officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
