Elwood Junior Hall age 87 of Rocky Mount passed away at his home on Monday, January 17, 2022. Elwood was born on September 1, 1934, a son of the late Taylor McKinley Hall and Sally Ann Hodges Hall. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Jean Rigney Hall; and his siblings, Adeline Weaver, Mattie Hodges, Barbara Matherly, Doris T. Hall, Louise Hodges, Henry Hall, James Hall, and J.W. Hall.
Elwood retired from Fieldcrest Cannon/Pillowtex and was a member of Museville Christian Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Betty Lou Pruitt (Bobby); granddaughter, Lindsay Pruitt Dudley (Jesse); his great-grandsons, Ryland “Gage” Dudley and Ryan Taylor Dudley; sisters-in-law, Alice Faye Hall, and Mildred Rigney; brother-in-law, J. Paul Rigney. He is also survived by a special nephew, Terry Wayne Hall; many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; special friends, Dennis Ferguson, Terry Gusler, Reggie Quinn, and Tommy Burgess.
Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022, with Steve Hayes, Minister officiating. Interment will be private in Franklin Memorial Park where he will be laid next to his wife. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
