Emma Isola Peters, 82, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, November 19, 2012. She was born May 15, 1930, the daughter of Charlie Roosevelt and Emma Sarah Wade Peters. Emma enjoyed ballroom dancing which she began in 1984. She was a member of the American Business Womens Association where she served as president for one year and also a member of the American Heart association, where she held several offices. She is survived by her brother, Charlie R. Peters, Sr. and sister-in-law, Debra H. of Ferrum; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends. In lieu of flowers, it was Emma’s request that memorial donations be made to Carilion Hospice of Roanoke or Franklin County. A memorial service celebrating her life will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel (Rt. 220), 2 pm Saturday, November 24 with Mr. Derek Woods and Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in Town Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will be receiving friends Saturday one hour prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 62 VA Market Place Dr., Rocky Mount, Virginia. 334-5151
