Ernest Lee Woods

Ernest Lee Woods, age 82, of Ferrum went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 23, 2012. He was born September 25, 1929 a son of the late Jesse and Lura S. Woods. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Woods, Wilsie Woods and two sisters, Lottie Cooper, Dorothy Blankenship. Surviving are two sisters, Phyllis Holley and her husband, Ronald, Janet Stanaland and her husband, Paul; brother-in-law, Ronnie Cooper; three brothers, Buren Woods, Harold Woods and his wife, Virginia, Jackie Woods and his wife, Nancy. Ernest also had many friends on the staff at Virginia Veterans Care Center. They dearly loved him and they shared this with us day after day. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Lynch Conner Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Liz Lazenby and Pastor Billy Shively officiating. Interment will follow in St. James United Methodist Church Cemetery, Ferrum, Virginia. His family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gideons International, P. O. Box 915, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
