Ernestine Turner ( Tina ) Perdue

Ernestine Turner (Tina) Perdue, age 91 of Rocky Mount died Wednesday, June 2, 2010 in the local hospital. She was born January 7, 1919 a daughter of the late Stewart and Gertrude Turner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Buren Clifford Perdue; special grandson, Dan Sloan, Jr.; four brothers; and four sisters. She enjoyed cooking for her family, the biscuits unforgettable. Ernestine loved the outdoors, either bird watching, pitching horseshoes, fishing with her children, or simply admiring the flowers she planted and attended to. Her extended family of church friends also, very dear to Ernestine spent much time with her and she always was fond of the times they shared. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Wayne and Stella Perdue, Bobby and Nancy Perdue, Janie and Dannie Sloan, Donna and Terry Mize, Betty and Mike LaPrade, David and Linda Perdue, Roxanne and Brian Snyder; her 13 grandchildren, Gary, Lisa, Laurie, Donna Carol, Bobby, Jr., David Wayne, Craig, Arnold, Jr., Jay, Veronica, Shanna, Sheila and Toni; a number great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010 with Elder Larry Hollandsworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Perdue Family Cemetery.
