Ervin "Sam" Perdue

Ervin “Sam” Perdue, age 88, of Boones Mill, went to be with the Lord on the morning of Sunday, October 13, 2013. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Edna, in 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents, James & Nannie Belvia; and siblings, Buck, Reva, and Ethel Pearl. Sam and Edna ran a daycare out of their home for 18 years after retiring, and were long time members of Rosalind Hills Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Boyd and husband Daron of Strasburg, PA, Kathy Perdue and husband Ramon of Roanoke, Elaine McCauley and husband James of Roanoke, and Beulah Sabundayo and husband Paul of Glyndon, MD; 7 grandchildren, Devin, James Jr., Mikael, Miranda, Chloe, Sara, and Sophie; brothers, Clyde Perdue of Ridgeway, VA and Jay Perdue of Rocky Mount; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 15, at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Bryan Ratliff officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, October 14 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 62 Virginia Market Place Drive, Rocky Mount, VA. 540-334-5151
