Esther Walker Dillon, age 85 of Glade Hill died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 in a Roanoke hospital. She was a member of Crossroads Primitive Baptist Church and she loved to quilt. Her passion in life was to take care of her family and friends. She truly loved her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dillon was born March 19, 1926 a daughter of the late Johnny and Geneva Adkins Walker. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dillon, Sr.; a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth; brothers, James, Sherman, Harden, Daniel and Billy; sisters, Lona, Blanche, Rachel and Matilda. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Paulette and Wayne Hundley; son and daughter-in-law, Paul Dillon, Jr. and Mary Young, all of Glade Hill; her grandchildren, Robbie and Leeanne Hundley, Matthew and Lisa Hundley, Willie Hundley and Koty Dillon; great-grandchildren, Trey, Ethan, Ariel, Carter, Dillon, Kayla, Elexia and Jenna Hundley; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Ruth Walker; sisters, Nancy Lee and Jane Carter; very special friends, Vivian McGhee, Mary Cusano and Rose. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel, 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011 with Elder Larry Hollandsworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Dillon Family Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday with her family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at Mrs. Dillon’s home.
