Esther Saul Turner

Esther Saul Turner, age 89, of Boones Mill, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother entered into Heaven on Thursday, December 15, 2011. She retired from The Medicine Shoppe, formerly Woods Pharmacy in Boones Mill with many years of service and was a member of Boones Mill United Methodist Church. She was born on August 31, 1922, a daughter of the late John F. and Clara M. Saul and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Imogene T. Marshall; brother, Harry Saul; and sister, Helen Saul and her husband George. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Norwood C. Turner, Sr.; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda T. & Donald Baxter of Roanoke; son and daughter-in-law, N. Cordell, Jr. & Marva Turner of Boones Mill; grandchildren, Lara Lee & Stan Strickler, Greg & Molly Marshall, Kevin & Amanda Marshall, and Tara Leigh Turner; great-grandchildren, Riley, Owen, Bailey, Morgan, & Alex; sister-in-law, Nora Saul; faithful & devoted son-in-law, Gerald Marshall and wife Linda; brother-in-law, Zane Turner (Edna); sister-in-law, Maxine T. Angle; and many other family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel, 11 am Saturday, December 17, 2011 with Rev. Robert Garner officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Very special thanks to the Pheasant Ridge Nursing Home Staff for their unending support and special care shown and given to “Mama” and family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Boones Mill United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 288, Boones Mill, Virginia 24065.
